“To be” is used in a sentence after a subject.

Example:
1. How are you? I am fine.
2. How is your family? They are very well.
3. How is your wife? She is all right.
4. How are your children? They are all healthy.
5. How is the cat? It is very cute.
6. Is your mother in good condition? Yes, she is. She is in good condition.
7. Are your sisters here in Jakarta? Yes, they are. They are here in Jakarta.
8. Are you okay? Yes, I am okay.
9. Am I okay? Yes, you are.
In negative sentences, ‘to be” is put before the “not”.
I am not a receptionist. I am a secretary.
She is not a guest. She is an administrator.
We are not at Jaya hotel. We are at Renata hotel.
